L’Heure Bleu by Guerlain translated from French means “The Blue Hour, that hour before dawn filled with romance and the promise of magic. It is the blue velvet of summer perfumes and is said that the French actress Catherine Deneuve wore it as her signature scent. Opening with citrus notes of luminous orange blossom and neroli, then blending beautifully with the rich plushness of vanilla, powdery iris and incense. L’Heure Bleue is bright, radiant, and as enveloping as a warm shawl on a cool summer eve.
Declaration By Cartier: First created in 1998 by former in house perfumer of Hermes, Jean-Claude Ellena, is a slightly spicy masculine citrus cologne with mint and cardamom. A dash of bitter orange and the leathery warmth of cumin suggest the smoked tannins of fine tea. A wonderful fragrance for nights out and for the office.
Boucheron Eau Legere for her, with its sparkling facets citrus: orange blossom and neroli is a dazzler. Light, with a hint of mystery, this twist on warm weather florals has notes of amber and creamy sandalwood. The modern oval flacon with its silver top and yellow/blue color evokes summer sun and starry skies.
L’Eau Bleu Issey Miyake for him is an uncommon mix of notes that are at once citrus, herbaceous and woody. It begins with a cocktail of mandarin orange and lime spiked with ginger. There is fresh rosemary which grounded in earthy patchouli and skin musk. Cooling but with a hint of spice for day into night.
